Cloudflare launched BotBase for Operators, giving bot and AI agent operators a way to identify themselves in Cloudflare's public bots directory instead of submitting into a black box. The submission flow moved to Protect & Connect → Application Security → BotBase in the dashboard and is available to all customers. A new Submission history tab shows each bot's status — Waiting for review, Accepted, or Rejected with actionable reasons — and surfaces any reclassification Cloudflare applied.
Cloudflare BlogMCP lead maintainers David Soria Parra and Den Delimarsky published an updated protocol roadmap covering the next specification release and beyond, developed by the Core Maintainers with the project's Working Groups. Five priority areas are named: agentic messaging primitives, HTTP-native transport unification and hardening, agent identity and enterprise-ready security, improved primitives, and SDK developer experience. It follows the 2026-07-28 spec release, which moved Tasks into an official extension (SEP-2663) and replaced server-initiated requests with Multi Round-Trip Requests (SEP-2322).
Model Context Protocol BlogAWS announced general availability of AgentCore payments, a capability within Amazon Bedrock AgentCore that lets AI agents autonomously discover, access and pay for paid APIs, MCP servers and content in a few lines of code. It integrates Coinbase and Stripe Privy wallets for microtransactions, provides payment orchestration across protocols, enforces configurable payment limits at the infrastructure layer and delivers end-to-end observability through AgentCore Observability. At general availability it adds Quick Create for Coinbase credential provisioning directly in the AgentCore console, a curated Coinbase Bazar MCP server of pay-per-use x402 endpoints served via AgentCore Gateway, support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), and the x402 "upto" scheme for pay-per-inference and dynamic pricing.
AWS What's NewGoogle made Gemini in Chrome available to all Android users in the United States and switched on its agentic auto browse mode for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US. Auto browse carries out multi-step everyday tasks on the live web on the user's behalf, with Google's own examples including booking parking for an event, updating a recurring online order and organizing travel — transactional actions rather than summarization. Google says its models are trained to detect known threats such as prompt injection, and that auto browse is designed to ask for confirmation before completing some sensitive tasks. The rollout puts agent-driven, checkout-adjacent browsing on mobile at consumer scale, alongside Gemini in Chrome's existing Google Calendar and Keep integrations.
Google BlogThe Agentic AI Foundation announced that Agent2Agent (A2A), the open standard for inter-agent communication, has joined AAIF as a hosted project — placing it under the same Linux Foundation governance as MCP, AGENTS.md, goose and agentgateway. A2A defines how agents publish agent cards, discover each other's capabilities and delegate tasks across framework and vendor boundaries without custom per-pair integration code. AAIF CTO Manik Surtani and Google Cloud VP/GM Rao Surapaneni both framed the move as removing single-vendor roadmap risk from cross-framework agent interoperability. The announcement cites agentic commerce as a live A2A deployment: Google Cloud and PayPal run shopping and merchant agents over A2A across product discovery, pricing and order fulfillment, with AP2 providing the payment authorization layer.
Agentic AI FoundationAlipay launched what it calls China's first full-stack agentic commerce platform at its AI Ecosystem Partner Conference in Hangzhou, giving merchants a one-stop path from digital operations to AI-powered operations. For merchants with no AI capability, the platform converts existing pages, products and service workflows into agent-ready Skills and MCP tools; for those already AI-enabled, it adds agent creation, skill orchestration, task execution and operations management. Merchants can integrate into the Ah Bao ecosystem — Alipay's super service AI agent, launched June 2026, spanning more than 10,000 everyday services with KFC, Mixue Bingcheng and Luckin Coffee already connected — via Alipay's AHA protocol for cross-agent and cross-device interoperability. As of August 2026 Ah Bao reaches 5 smartphone brands accounting for over 70% of the market plus 16 automakers. Ant Group CEO Cyril Han said agentic commerce is "poised for rapid growth over the next 6 to 12 months."
Ant GroupSynchrony (NYSE: SYF), one of the largest US store-card and private-label consumer credit issuers, announced an enterprise collaboration with OpenAI to bring financing, rewards and loyalty into AI-native shopping and checkout. A Synchrony plugin headed for the ChatGPT plugin directory will let consumers discover savings and offers inside ChatGPT and browse promotional financing, deals and everyday value from participating Synchrony partners in a conversational experience. Synchrony will also deploy OpenAI's latest models across the enterprise through ChatGPT Work, Codex and AWS Bedrock. The move extends agentic commerce rails past network tokens into consumer credit and issuer-side loyalty — the financing layer of the purchase, not just the payment instrument.
SynchronyThe Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation — the neutral home of the open agentic AI stack, including MCP — announced 57 new member organizations over the past quarter, bringing total membership to 247. The intake comprises 3 Gold, 33 Silver and 21 Associate members, with Alibaba, Visa and Wells Fargo joining at the Gold tier as agent standards move into compliance-critical domains like payments and banking. Announced at MCP Dev Summit Seoul, the release cites AAIF's Agentic AI Momentum Report tracking 116 open source projects across five layers of the agentic stack, with AGNTCon and MCPCon events in Japan and China to follow in September.
Linux FoundationCoinbase expanded its Coinbase Business payments suite so that existing merchant checkouts can accept payments directly from AI agents via x402, the open standard for machine-to-machine payments. Agent-initiated funds settle instantly in USDC to the merchant's account with no chargebacks, and integration ships as an accept-x402-payments developer doc. Coinbase says the business suite now serves more than 5,000 companies and has powered more than 100,000 payments across payment links, checkouts and invoices. The same release added USDT support, reusable payment links, a product catalog and flexible pricing.
Coinbase BlogSalesforce published its 2026 Agentic Enterprise Index, an analysis of aggregated Agentforce platform usage from February 2025 through April 2026. Organizations increased activated agents by nearly 3x over the fiscal year while cutting average agent creation time 53%, and the average agent now acts on six skills versus two at the start of 2025. Salesforce reports that deploying agents corresponded to 4x higher retail online sales growth, and that Agentic Work Unit output is growing at a 15% compound monthly rate as of April 2026.
Salesforce NewsGoogle announced new agentic capabilities in Ask Maps, the Gemini-powered assistant inside Google Maps, letting users complete multi-step transactional tasks by voice or text — for example asking Maps to order a specific takeout dish for pickup along a route, with the assistant finding open restaurants that serve it and accounting for saved places and dietary needs. The update also adds hotel and event discovery with real-time price comparison and availability checks, plus optional Gmail connection for context from flights and reservations. Food ordering, hotel and event discovery, and conversational contributions roll out in the US first, with more countries over time.
Google BlogGoogle announced it has joined the Agent Plugins project as a Core Maintainer. Agent Plugins 1.0.0 is a vendor-neutral specification for packaging Agent Skills and MCP servers into a single portable directory — a plugin.json manifest alongside skills/ and mcp.json — published by a technical steering committee of core maintainers from Amazon, Cursor, Microsoft, OpenAI and Vercel. Google has rolled out support in the Agents CLI and Data Agent Kit. The v1 spec is a package format only: it deliberately defines no install mechanism, distribution protocol, permission model or provenance verification.
Google Developers BlogSalesforce's July 2026 B2C Commerce release introduces Agentic Commerce Search — an AI-native search engine trained on catalog data, real shopper behavior and simulated queries to decode shopper intent rather than match keywords. It is natively integrated into the Agentforce Shopper Agent and ships with a new React-based, storefront-embeddable interface, positioning conversational, intent-driven discovery as the default shopping entry point ahead of peak season.
Salesforce BlogThe Model Context Protocol released its 2026-07-28 specification alongside updated SDKs — the largest revision since MCP launched. The headline change is a stateless protocol core: MCP moves from a bidirectional, stateful protocol to a request/response stateless model, one of its most-requested features, simplifying serverless and horizontally-scaled deployments. The release also lands governed Extensions, Tasks and MCP Apps, under Linux Foundation (Agentic AI Foundation) governance.
Model Context Protocol BlogSalesforce published new commerce data showing that 'agentic search' — shoppers beginning purchase journeys inside AI chat assistants rather than on-site search — grew 200% year over year. Salesforce frames conversational AI as the new first step of the shopping funnel heading into peak season, with AI-driven discovery increasingly displacing traditional search and category browsing.
Salesforce NewsroomThe Linux Foundation announced the operational launch of the x402 Foundation — a vendor-neutral governance body for the x402 protocol (HTTP-native payments for AI agents, APIs and apps) — and confirmed that Coinbase's contribution of the protocol is complete. Since the April intent-to-launch, 40 organizations have joined; premier members include Adyen, AWS, American Express, Circle, Cloudflare, Coinbase, Fiserv, Google, Mastercard, Monad Foundation, MoonPay, Ripple, Shopify, Solana Foundation, Stellar Development Foundation, Stripe and Visa. The foundation will steward x402 across payment types from cards to stablecoins.
Linux FoundationSalesforce announced general availability of three Agentforce Commerce agents — Shopper Agent, Buyer Agent and Merchant Agent — positioned as one platform connecting shoppers, merchants and AI apps across B2C, B2B, point of sale and order management. The agents ship with native integration into ChatGPT, with Google Search (including AI Mode) and the Gemini app arriving 'in the coming months.' Salesforce cited that AI influenced 20% of global online sales (US$262B) during the 2025 holiday season, that retailers running their own shopper agents grew sales 59% faster than those on the sidelines, and that AI-referred traffic converts at 8x the rate of social.
Salesforce NewsroomSquare (Block) introduced a ChatGPT app and a Claude plugin — via Order by Cash App — that let its 4.5M+ sellers get discovered and transact inside AI conversations. U.S. Food & Beverage sellers with an active Square Online Ordering profile go live first: customers can browse menus and place orders that route into existing Square POS/KDS with no added APIs, contracts, or marketplace commissions, and eligible sellers are auto-enrolled. Square says Amazon Alexa+ voice commerce is next, and it is co-developing the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) with Google for local food ordering while participating in the AAIF Agentic Commerce Working Group and the W3C Web Payments Working Group.
Square PressCloudflare unveiled the Monetization Gateway, a single control plane for its customers to charge for any asset behind Cloudflare — web pages, datasets, APIs, or MCP tools. At launch, payments settle in stablecoins over the x402 open protocol, which Cloudflare is building with Coinbase via the x402 Foundation, with verification and enforcement handled at the edge to shield origins from high payment volume. Buyers need no prior account with the seller because the payment itself is the credential, enabling sub-cent micropayments. Part of Cloudflare's 'Content Independence Day' push.
Cloudflare BlogMastercard and PrivatBank, Ukraine's largest bank, completed Ukraine's first agentic transaction using Mastercard Agent Pay, with an AI agent acting on a consumer's behalf to complete a purchase. The transaction ran on Mastercard's consent-based agentic framework, which brings AI agents into the payment flow as fully recognized, authenticated and governed participants so each transaction stays secure, transparent and within consumer control. The milestone extends Mastercard's Agent Pay program into a new market, with PrivatBank as the issuing partner.
Mastercard NewsroomThe Model Context Protocol's Enterprise-Managed Authorization (EMA) extension is now stable, replacing per-user OAuth consent loops with identity-provider-mediated delegation so organizations can centrally provision MCP server access — users get connected servers on first login with no per-app OAuth. Okta is the first supported identity provider, with Anthropic, Visual Studio Code, and nine MCP servers (including Asana, Atlassian, Canva, Figma, Linear and Supabase) shipping support at launch.
Model Context Protocol BlogShopify shipped its Spring '26 Edition with 150+ updates centered on agentic commerce, built on the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) — the open, Google-co-developed standard for how AI agents transact with merchants across discovery, checkout and post-purchase. Catalog API access now requires only an API key with no approval, and merchant products are auto-syndicated into AI channels including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and the Shop App, with checkout completable inside those assistants via Shop Pay. Shopify reports syndicated product data drives roughly 2x more conversion in AI chats.
Shopify NewsAdyen announced Adyen Agentic, a suite of modular APIs (Agentic Feed, Agentic Cart, Agentic Payments) that lets enterprises sell through conversational AI platforms without rebuilding commerce systems per channel. It ships foundational support for the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) and OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP). Early ecosystem participants include American Express, Mastercard, Salesforce and Visa, plus enterprise retailers ESW, Scheels, Sézane and SharkNinja.
Adyen NewsroomVisa announced a strategic collaboration with OpenAI to enable secure Visa payments within agentic commerce, integrating Visa's global payment network, credentialing and security infrastructure into OpenAI experiences. Announced at Visa Payments Forum 2026 in San Francisco as part of Visa Intelligent Commerce, the deal lets developers and merchants accept Visa payments initiated by agents using tokenized Visa credentials, real-time authorization and fraud monitoring, with transactions bound by user-set spending limits, merchant categories and approvals. The companies will also explore enterprise applications powered by OpenAI's Codex.
Visa NewsroomMastercard introduced Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M), a service letting AI agents and connected systems initiate, permission, orchestrate and settle programmatic transactions at machine speed across its global network — including microtransactions as small as fractions of a cent, settled across cards, bank accounts and stablecoins. More than 30 industry leaders are among the first to support adoption, including Adyen, Ant International, BVNK, Checkout.com, Cloudflare, Coinbase, Getnet by Santander, Global Payments, Lovable, OKX, Stripe and Tempo.
Mastercard NewsroomAt Visa Payments Forum 2026, Visa announced new AI, stablecoin and token capabilities for its Visa Intelligent Commerce platform, including Agent Score (an agent-trust scoring capability built with New Generation), an Agentic Registry and a Large Transaction Model, plus stablecoin settlement and token enhancements. The release positions Visa to support agent-initiated transactions being discovered, initiated and completed with transparency and trust, alongside its separately announced OpenAI partnership.
Visa NewsroomAt Money20/20 Europe, Worldline and ING, together with Mastercard, executed Europe's first end-to-end agentic payment transaction in production — between an ING cardholder and a Dutch merchant, running across the Mastercard network on shared infrastructure spanning the Netherlands and Belgium. A merchant AI agent found in-budget concert tickets and completed the purchase only after explicit consumer approval, demonstrating a fully Europe-orchestrated agent-initiated, authenticated payment.
Mastercard NewsroomAt Money20/20 Europe, AI fashion-search app Hey Savi launched the UK's first agentic commerce experience with native in-app checkout, powered by PayPal's Agentic Commerce Services. Debenhams Group — spanning Debenhams, Karen Millen, Boohoo and Pretty Little Thing — is the first UK retailer to bring end-to-end AI-powered shopping to consumers, with search-to-purchase across more than 10,000 brands.
PayPal NewsroomKlarna launched the Klarna Shopping Search app inside ChatGPT, letting consumers describe what they want in natural language and instantly see visual results with live prices, availability and offers from multiple merchants, then redirect to the merchant to complete the purchase. The app connects ChatGPT to Klarna's database of more than 100 million products and 400 million merchant listings across 13 markets.
Klarna NewsroomFireblocks joined the Linux Foundation-hosted x402 Foundation and launched its Agentic Payments Suite — infrastructure for agent-initiated payments using any stablecoin on any blockchain, spanning the wallet infrastructure agents use to send funds through to the acceptance layer merchants use to receive them. Fireblocks also contributed a security extension that adds request integrity and spend governance to the x402 protocol.
PR Newswire (Fireblocks)Google introduced Universal Cart at I/O 2026 — a cross-merchant AI shopping cart that works in Search, the Gemini app, YouTube and Gmail, with background deal-finding, price-history and back-in-stock alerts. UCP-powered checkout launches with Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta, Walmart, Wayfair and Shopify merchants including Fenty and Steve Madden, with rollout to Canada and Australia in the coming months and the UK to follow. UCP also extends to YouTube in the US and to hotel and local food-delivery verticals.
Google BlogCloudflare announced a collaboration with Anthropic to launch Cloudflare Environments for Claude Managed Agents — letting organizations run core agent loops on Anthropic's Claude platform while using Cloudflare's global network and Workers developer platform to execute code, secure private connections and provide agents with specialized tools. The integration strengthens the production-grade infrastructure underneath agentic workloads that increasingly transact via x402, MPP and ACP.
Cloudflare PressMastercard and JD.com announced a strategic partnership in Beijing to build a more connected, secure, and intelligent commerce ecosystem. The companies will explore agentic AI-powered purchasing through Mastercard Agent Pay, expand cross-border supply-chain finance for SMBs, broaden international card acceptance in China, and jointly develop AI-driven anti-fraud and identity authentication.
Mastercard NewsroomAWS announced Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments (preview), a managed service that lets AI agents autonomously pay for APIs, web content, MCP servers, and other agents. Built with Coinbase (stablecoin wallet infrastructure) and Stripe/Privy (wallet infrastructure and payment rails), the service manages the full payment lifecycle — wallet authentication, transaction execution, per-session spending limits, end-user authorization, and full traceability through the AgentCore console. It launches with x402 protocol support and integrates with Coinbase's x402 Bazaar MCP server so agents can discover paid services independently. Available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Europe (Frankfurt), and Asia Pacific (Sydney).
AWS Machine Learning BlogStripe launched the Link Agent Wallet, giving AI shopping agents access to Link's 200M+ consumer base via one-time-use cards or Shared Payment Tokens (SPTs) backed by users' existing wallet cards and bank accounts. Built on top of Stripe Issuing for Agents, the wallet routes spend requests to consumers for review and approval through the web and new Link iOS/Android apps. Future support is planned for agentic tokens, stablecoins, and additional payment types, with full Issuing APIs available for businesses building custom agentic wallets.
Stripe BlogGoogle transferred ownership of the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) to the FIDO Alliance for community governance and shipped AP2 v0.2 on GitHub. The release adds Human Not Present payment support for autonomous transactions like time-sensitive ticket purchases that a user has pre-authorized.
Google BlogThe FIDO Alliance launched two technical working groups to develop interoperable standards for AI agent authentication and agent-initiated commerce, drawing on Google's AP2 and Mastercard's Verifiable Intent contributions. The Agentic Authentication Technical Working Group is chaired by CVS Health, Google, and OpenAI, with vice chairs from Amazon and Okta.
FIDO AllianceCloudflare rebranded its Browser Rendering product to Browser Run and added native WebMCP support, letting AI agents discover and call website tools declared via the Chrome WebMCP API. ACE delivers five integrated services spanning agent registration, account enablement, intent intelligence, payment credentials, and cart context, backed by the industry-first Amex Agent Purchase Protection that covers Card Members against registered-agent errors. Launch partners: Adyen, Fiserv, Forter, Global Payments, PayPal, and Stripe; flagship merchants: Delta Air Lines, Expedia, and Hilton.
American ExpressVisa committed to operating an anchor validator on Tempo, the Stripe-backed blockchain that hosts the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP). Zodia Custody joined as a second validator, hardening the network Stripe and Tempo positioned on March 18 as the settlement layer for agent-initiated payments.
VisaThe Agent2Agent (A2A) Protocol, now a Linux Foundation project, announced 150+ supporting organizations at its one-year mark — up from ~50 in April 2025. New backers include AWS, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce, SAP and ServiceNow. The repo crossed 22,000 GitHub stars and the SDK expanded to five languages with production deployments in finance, supply chain and insurance.
Linux FoundationThe Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) maintainers shipped spec v2026-04-08 with three breaking changes, including moving signing_keys from nested ucp.signing_keys to the document root. The release formally adds A2A as a transport and separates business-profile manifests (/.well-known/ucp) from platform-profile manifests with distinct field requirements.
Google for DevelopersPerplexity asked the Ninth Circuit to vacate a March 10 preliminary injunction (N.D. Cal. 3:25-cv-09514) that bars its Comet AI shopping agent from accessing Amazon.com. Amazon successfully argued Comet violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act — the first major U.S. court decision setting precedent on agent-access rights.
CourtListenerMastercard completed its first live authenticated agentic transaction in Hong Kong through a partnership with HSBC and DBS Hong Kong. An AI agent via CardInfoLink booked a Hong Kong airport ride through mobility provider hoppa, using Mastercard Payment Passkey-authenticated tokens. Mastercard also announced a regional AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore.
Mastercard NewsroomRamp renewed its multi-year Visa issuing agreement and deepened technical integration around Visa Intelligent Commerce and the Trusted Agent Protocol. The companies will deploy AI agents to automate corporate bill pay across Ramp's 50,000+ customers, aiming to reduce manual AP work and give enterprises finer-grained control over agent-initiated spend.
VisaStripe partnered with Meta to enable one-click purchasing inside Facebook ads — when users tap 'Buy now' on an ad, a native checkout powered by Stripe appears using saved credentials from Meta Wallet. The experience underpins the Agentic Commerce Protocol and is positioned within Stripe's Agentic Commerce Suite. Fanatics and Quince are early adopters; Instagram ads expansion is planned.
Stripe NewsroomOpenAI shifts ChatGPT shopping from Instant Checkout to ACP-powered product discovery. Walmart launched an in-ChatGPT app with account linking, loyalty, and Walmart Payments. Shopify connected millions of merchants. Visual browsing, side-by-side comparison, and conversational refinement now live for all ChatGPT users.
OpenAI BlogShopify launches Agentic Storefronts giving merchants out-of-the-box access to ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode, and Gemini. New Agentic Plan lets non-Shopify brands add products to Shopify Catalog to sell across AI channels. Orders flow into admin with referral attribution.
Shopify NewsroomGap Inc. became the first major fashion company to deploy native Gemini checkout, powered by Google's Universal Commerce Protocol, across Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta. Shoppers browse, get styling recommendations and check out without leaving Gemini, initially paying via Google Pay. Gap also joined as early partner of Bold Metrics' new Agentic Sizing Protocol (ASP).
Gap Inc.Google published major UCP capability updates co-developed with community partners. New optional capabilities include Cart (agents save multiple items from a single store at once), Catalog (agents retrieve real-time pricing, inventory, and variant data), and Identity Linking (shoppers receive loyalty/member pricing benefits on UCP-integrated platforms). Google is also rolling out simplified UCP onboarding via Merchant Center. Commerce Inc, Salesforce, and Stripe will implement UCP on their platforms in the near future.
Google BlogStripe and Tempo (a payments blockchain co-developed by Stripe and Paradigm) launched the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), an open standard enabling AI agents to pay for services autonomously machine-to-machine. Visa is extending MPP to support card-based payments on its global network via the Visa Acceptance Platform. The Visa CLI also bridges MPP and Coinbase x402, positioning it as a cross-standard connector across emerging agentic payment rails.
StripeVisa announced its CLI supports both Stripe and Tempo's Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) and Coinbase's x402 protocol, positioning Visa as a cross-standard connector between traditional card rails and emerging crypto-native agent payment standards. The move signals that incumbent payment networks are treating autonomous agent payment protocols as legitimate infrastructure rather than fringe experiments.
VisaWizard, the first AI agent purpose-built for ecommerce, announced a partnership with Stripe to accelerate ACP adoption. Wizard joins Stripe's group of early ACP partners helping retailers turn AI-driven discovery into incremental sales while maintaining control of brand, catalog, fulfillment, and customer relationships.
Business Wire - WizardThe Northern District of California (3:25-cv-09514, Judge Chesney) issued a preliminary injunction barring Perplexity's Comet shopping agent from accessing Amazon.com, ruling Amazon was likely to succeed on Computer Fraud and Abuse Act claims. The ruling is the first major U.S. judicial decision on whether retailers can legally block third-party AI shopping agents and triggered Perplexity's April 1 appeal to the Ninth Circuit.
CourtListenerThe greatest hits of agentic commerce — a curated, all-time view spanning protocol launches, payment breakthroughs, and landmark deployments
A2A, the open standard for inter-agent communication, becomes a hosted project of the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation — the same home as MCP, AGENTS.md, goose and agentgateway. The move puts the agent-to-agent interoperability layer under the same neutral governance as the agent-to-tool layer, removing single-vendor roadmap risk for the 150+ organizations building on it. AAIF cites agentic commerce as a live deployment: Google Cloud and PayPal run shopping and merchant agents over A2A across discovery, pricing and fulfillment, with AP2 as the payment authorization layer.
